Plumbing

Open up to a career in demand as a Plumber. Depending on your specialisation, you might install, maintain and repair plumbing equipment, gutters and downpipes or focus on equipment for heating, cooling and ventilating buildings. Roles can be physically demanding and often require work outdoors. You need strong skills in communications, literacy and numeracy, and usually a driver’s licence is required.

On-the-job training:

Start your career at school through on-the-job training in one of:

  • CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing
  • CPC32620 Certificate III in Roof Plumbing
  • CPC32720 Certificate III in Gas Fitting
OR

Off-the-job training:

Start VET study at school through off-the-job training in:

  • 22569VIC Certificate II in Plumbing (Pre-apprenticeship)
  • CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways
  • Advanced Plumbing

Industry specific requirements, including:

  • CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
  • CPCCCM2012 Work safely at heights (for Roof Plumbing)
  • Driver’s Licence

  • Customised SACE subjects
  • Pastoral care – mentoring and monitoring
