About this event
The Future Health Leaders Program is designed to inspire female high school students to enter a career in health and medical research, innovation and life sciences.
The Future Health Leaders Program will bring together a group of 12 students for an immersion day in Canberra during October 2026 to:
• showcase the diversity of career pathways across health and medical research
• inspire a passion for a career in life sciences
• meet with exceptional female leaders in research, education, industry and government
• get some hands-on experience in world-class science facilities.
The program will also include several online mentoring sessions to participants on topics relevant to their future, as well as an invitation to join the Future Health Leaders Alumni Program, inspiring, connecting and supporting students throughout Year 12, university and the early stages of their careers.
Who can apply?
The Program is open to any Australian student in Year 11 who identifies as female.
We want everyone eligible to be able to apply. You can reach out us on the email below if there’s anything we can do to support you to put forward your best application. There is also financial support available to assist successful applicants to attend the session in Canberra.
Applications close on 31 May 2026 at 11:59pm AEST.
